Volkswagen Fox (06 on) - Review Review by David Ross on 24 April 2006 Last Updated: 25 September 2009 This is the cheapest new Volkswagen in recent memory - a roomy, easy-to-drive city runabout that's cheap to run and well built. It effectively replaced the Volkswagen Lupo, but is far superior with better refinement and more interior space. It may lack the charm and personality of other small cars like the Fiat Panda or Toyota Aygo, but it makes up for it with a versatile and comfortable interior. There are just a handful of engines and trims available, making the range simple and easy to understand. 3 out of 5 Other Volkswagen reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery Also Consider 4 out of 5 Toyota Aygo (05 on) Cheeky styling, fun to drive, low running costs, cheaper new than near-identical C1 and 107 Back to basics cabin, tiny boot, optional navigation system dislikes built-up areas Read full review 4 out of 5 Fiat Panda (04-11) Easy and fun to drive, great value, cheeky looks, well built interior Boot space is tight, split/folding seats aren't standard, offset pedals Read full review 3.5 out of 5 Kia Picanto (04-11) Cracking value, economical engines, five-doors as standard, cheap to run, reliable Not as clever with space as other small cars, mediocre safety rating Read full review Find other hatchback cars Car Valuations Find used car prices with Parkers accurate car valuations.
