Volkswagen Golf Plus (05-08) - Review Review by David Ross on 07 April 2006 Last Updated: 28 September 2009 The Golf Plus sits between the standard Golf hatchback and the Touran people carrier in the Volkswagen range, making it ideal for those who want a more useful alternative to a standard hatch. It's never proved as popular as the normal Golf, but this is good news if you're buying second hand as prices tend to be lower across the board. It's as good to drive and has plenty of boot space while long distance comfort is impressive. There's a decent choice of engines too, including some frugal diesels along with a low-emissions Bluemotion version. 4 out of 5 Other Volkswagen reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery Also Consider 3.5 out of 5 Ford Focus C-MAX (03-10) Superb interior build quality, solid feel, neat styling No seven seat option, not as practical or flexible as some people carriers Read full review 4 out of 5 SEAT Altea Hatchback (04 on) Distinctive styling, good choice of engines, decent interior space, enjoyable to drive, low emissions Ecomotive version Rear seats aren't especially versatile, visibility could be better, firm ride on FR models Read full review 3 out of 5 Mercedes-Benz A-Class (05 on) Decent interior space, most affordable Mercedes, easy to drive in town, good diesel economy Artificially light steering, noisy at speed, harsh ride, some weak petrol engines Read full review Find other hatchback cars Car Valuations Find used car prices with Parkers accurate car valuations.
