Volkswagen Jetta (06-10) - Review Review by Simon Harris on 27 March 2006 Last Updated: 02 October 2009 Volkswagen has returned to the original Jetta name for its smaller family saloon, relegating the previous Vento and Bora names to history. While the Golf influence is obvious from the front and from behind the wheel, the rear has much in common with the upmarket Passat and it's a good alternative to the larger four-door. The Jetta is good to drive in all its engine variations, and can squeeze three passengers into the rear quite comfortably. It has a huge boot and is quite handsome, but still won't hold its value as well as an equivalent Golf. However, this makes it a good used buy. 4 out of 5 Other Volkswagen reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery Also Consider 4 out of 5 Volvo S40 (04 on) Safe and comfortable on the move, stylish cabin, great seats Lacks the prestige of premium alternatives and not as good to drive, firm ride, cramped rear seats Read full review 3.5 out of 5 Ford Focus Saloon (05-09) Good to drive, robust build quality, comfortable on the move Hatch and estate are more practical, not an easy car to sell second hand, Read full review 4 out of 5 Mazda 3 Saloon (09-10) Stands out from the usual hatchbacks, good to drive, high levels of standard equipment, excellent 2.2-litre diesel engine Not as desirable or as practical as the hatchback version Read full review Find other saloon cars Car Valuations Find used car prices with Parkers accurate car valuations.
