Volkswagen Lupo (99-05) - Review

Review by Parkers on
Last Updated: 23 February 2011
The tiny Lupo offers a premium package of reliability, driveability and desirability. The GTi models are mischievous and especially fun to drive with the six-speed gearbox. Main criticisms are the 1.0-litre and 1.7 Di diesels can feel underpowered and the boot is too small for most needs.

Buying used

Cheapest on the market are 1.0 models. These are only suited to the town and get spartan equipment. GTi models hold their value well and fetch top money, but 1.4 diesels are not far behind.

Selling

GTi and diesels will be snapped up quickly, but 1.0 struggles because Arosa is cheaper. Not enough on the used market for buyers to be especially picky.
