Volkswagen Lupo (99-05) - Review Review by Parkers on 01 January 1999 Last Updated: 23 February 2011 The tiny Lupo offers a premium package of reliability, driveability and desirability. The GTi models are mischievous and especially fun to drive with the six-speed gearbox. Main criticisms are the 1.0-litre and 1.7 Di diesels can feel underpowered and the boot is too small for most needs. 4 out of 5 Other Volkswagen reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 3 out of 5 Comfort Engine noise is intrusive on the 1.0, but other engines do better and the cabin is well insulated against wind and road noise. Rear is only big enough for two kids and not especially comfortable for long journeys. Most buyers should think of it as a two-seater (front passenger gets more legroom and frees-up the rear for luggage).
