Volkswagen Polo Hatchback (02-09) - Review

Entry-level E models have ABS with electronic brake force distribution, driver and front passenger airbags, height and reach-adjustable steering wheel, power-assisted steering, a CD stereo, central locking, an immobiliser and Isofix child seat points. S models (later changed to Match) add 'Climatic' semi-automatic air conditioning, 14-inch alloy wheels, side airbags, front fog lights, front electric windows, electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors and split folding rear seat. The SE gets driver and front seat passenger height adjustment, remote central locking with alarm and a three-spoke steering wheel. Top Sport models gain 15-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, chrome trimmed radiator grille surround, front sports seats, leather-trimmed steering wheel, gearknob and handbrake grip, multifunction computer and sports suspension. The Bluemotion 1 has the same equipment as the S and adds a trip computer but has no air conditioning. The Bluemotion 2 includes air conditioning, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, leather-covered steering wheel and remote central locking with an alarm. The Match version, introduced at the end of 2007, replaced the S but adds extra equipment.
