New diesel completes Cruze range

Chevrolet has launched 125bhp diesel versions of its Cruze saloon in a bid to win over more company car drivers.

The 125bhp version of the 2.0 VDCi engine is available in S and LS grades, and has CO2 emissions of 145g/km putting it in the 20 per cent bracket for benefit-in-kind tax during 2009/10.

Fuel consumption is stated as 51.4mpg on the combined cycle, and an annual company car tax bill for a basic rate income tax payer for 2009/10 is £543 for the S and £567 for the LS.

The S model comes with air conditioning, electronic stability control, auxiliary input socket for MP3 players and electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors as standard.

The LS adds electric rear windows, alloy wheels, rear park assist, steering wheel audio controls.

The Cruze, similar in size to a Volkswagen Jetta and Skoda Octavia, is priced at £13,745 on the road for the S and £14,345 for the LS. A 150bhp diesel, available only as a top-spec LT model, is priced at £15,445 on the road is also on sale.
