Ford's biggest selling models will become cheaper in company car tax terms from next month when it slashes prices on Fiesta and Focus models.

From August 2, Ford is introducing the second round of its 'Blue Tag'  - essentially cutting the list prices - following on from similar action taken on the Mondeo, S-MAX and Galaxy ranges in April.

This means a Fiesta Studio model will be priced at £9,995 - a reduction of £1,650, while a Focus Zetec will fall by £2,800 to £15,545. For a 20% taxpayer, this means savings of £50 and £113 per annum in company car tax terms for the Fiesta and Focus respectively.

The pricing action also applies to the Ka Studio, which falls from £9,360 to £7,995, and the Kuga Titanium which goes from £23,795 to £22,495, savings of £1,365 and £1,300 respectively.

This will make the Ka £28 per annum cheaper in company car tax, while the Kuga driver will save £57.

The prices come into effect on August 2. Ford says the reason behind the move is to get away from the high list price/big discount approach which it has used in the past. Dealer discounts have also been cut in the pricing move.
