Volkswagen's revised Touran mini-people carrier range has opened for ordering, with prices starting at £17,585.

The seven-seater range now features revised front-end styling to bring it in line with other models in the range, such as the Polo and Golf.

Tweaks have been made to the interior trim, while all models now come with air conditioning, alloy wheels, roof rails, ESP stability control and six airbags as standard.

New to the range is a 1.2-litre turbocharged TSI petrol engine which delivers 105bhp, 44mpg fuel economy and CO2 emissions of 149g/km.

However, when ordered in BlueMotion Technology trim which adds stop-start and battery regeneration, the 1.2 TSI returns nearly 48mpg and 139g/km of CO2, dropping it two company car tax bands into the 16% banding.

BlueMotion Technology specification is also offered with 1.6-litre TDi (121g/km) and 2.0-litre TDI (125g/km) diesels which both fall into the 18% company car tax band.

The Touran range is also being offered in S, SE and Sport trim levels.
