SEAT is re-introducing its popular Leon Cupra R hot hatchback which enjoyed considerable success with user-choosers over the years.
The new model, the most powerful production car ever built by SEAT, comes with a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine delivering 261bhp - enough for 0-62mph acceleration in just 6.2 seconds.
The engine returns fuel economy of 35mpg and emits 190g/km of CO2, putting it in the 27% company car tax band. Expect a benefit-in-kind tax bill of around £200 a month for a 40% taxpayer.
To mark the Cupra R model out, SEAT has added twin central exhaust pipes, a rear spoiler and 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside are quilted leather sports seats in the front.
The previous Cupra R Leon was discontinued back in 2006.
The order book for the new model opens this week and the Cupra R costs £25,205.
