Volkswagen has announced pricing for the new Sharan, which is available with a wide range of petrol and diesel engines.

The new model benefits from modern technology like Stop/Start and a battery regeneration system to improve economy and lower emissions.

A choice of four trim levels are available. All feature seven seats apart from the top-specification Executive trim which has six seats with armrests and leather as standard.

The new Sharan features a seating layout called EasyFold which allows the second and third rows of seats to be stored in the floor, using a folding mechanism, rather than the seats having to be removed.

Engine options include a 1.4 TSI petrol with 148bhp, a 2.0 TSI petrol with 198bhp, or a 2.0-litre TDI diesel that comes in two outputs of either 138bhp or 168bhp. Emissions range from 146g/km of CO2 up to 191g/km, meaning the Sharan will sit between 18% and 30% company car tax bands.

The new model comes with a range of standard safety equipment including anti-lock brakes, brake assist, stability control, curtain airbags for all three rows of seats, side airbags for the front two rows and front driver and passenger airbags.

It also comes with a digital radio, climate control, iPod connectivitiy, twin rear sliding doors and electronically adjustable suspension.

The new Sharan is available to order now with deliveries starting in November with prices starting at £22,980.
