When it comes to fuel economy and CO2 emissions the Golf BlueMotion is the best of the bunch. Emissions of 85g/km is a stellar performance and will keep tax costs nice and low.
Fuel economy is also impressive at 88mpg for the official combined figure.
Despite the low CO2 emissions and high fuel economy, the BlueMotion also has enough power to satisfy most people with 103bhp available – it’s also fun to drive with a good level of standard equipment.

For performance…Golf GTD 2.0 TDI

Getting a GTI on the company car choice list is a bit of stretch for most of us and will be hard to justify to your fleet manager because of its high list price and CO2 emissions.
Although the GTI is the flagship performance model of the range, for those that want a car with hot-hatch thrills without the running costs and tax bills normally associated with it, the Golf GTD is the answer.
The GTD uses a 181bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine which produces 109g/km CO2 emissions and a fuel economy figure of 67.3mpg on the official combined cycle – an impressive feat considering 0-62mph takes only 7.3 seconds.

For practicality…Golf Estate GT 2.0-litre TDI
If your company car needs to be versatile enough to cope with family life or you need more load lugging ability than a hatchback has to offer – practicality will be close to the top of your priority list, with equipment a close second.
With a load capacity of 605 litres with the seats up and a starting price of £18,175 for the entry-level model, the Golf Estate presents good value for money.
If you’re after extra kit than the GT trim is the one of go for, offering 17-inch alloys, sat-nav and parking sensors as standard.
