Vauxhall has revealed first pictures and headline details of the new Corsa hatchback.

One of the most popular company cars here in the UK, the Vauxhall Corsa was the third biggest selling car last year in the UK shifting over 80,000 units to both retail and fleet buyers.

The new fourth-generation Corsa goes on sale at the end of the year and will feature the latest generation technology and a new engine line-up.

Available as either a three- or five-door model, the next-generation Corsa will also be launched with a completely new 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine which is expected to offer low running costs and be available with either 89bhp or 113bhp. A new 1.4-litre turbo petrol will also join the range.

Crucially for company car drivers, revisions to the 1.3-litre diesel engine mean that as well as becoming Euro6 compliant, lower CO2 emissions will help keep company car tax bills low.

Two new six-speed gearboxes, one manual and one automatic, will also be introduced along with a new chassis set-up which is aimed to improve ride quality and handling.

Some people may not notice any difference in the design of the new Vauxhall Corsa because the exterior tweaks have been very much on the subtle side.

There is no change in the cars dimensions, retaining the same interior room and luggage space as before.

Inside is where the big changes are with, a new centre console and dashboard design available with a seven-inch colour touchscreen compatible with Vauxhall’s IntelliLink technology which can display content from your smartphone.

This clever bit of kit allows you to access apps like BringGo (for navigation), Stitcher and TuneIn (for global radio channels and internet podcasts) while on the move as well as other features such as Siri.

Heated seats, a reversing camera and a panoramic sunroof will also be available across the range either as standard or an option as well as a range of new safety features.

The new Vauxhall Corsa will make its first public debut at this year’s Paris Motor Show. More details including pricing will be revealed closer to the time.
