Renault‘s Ford Focus rival – the recently overhauled Megane – offers best-in-class service, maintenance and repair costs according to our pricing experts at Parkers, meaning that it should be a much cheaper proposition for company car drivers than before.
Stronger residuals mean lower leasing costs
The new model has seen the largest-ever residual value rise reported – up eight percentage points – which means that business drivers should pay much less each month for the new model than its predecessor. The Megane is available to order now, with prices starting at £16,600 and deliveries starting later this month.
The predicted bestseller – the 1.5-litre 110hp Dynamique Nav diesel – is set to cost £1,291 in servicing, maintenance and repair costs – an eight percent drop on the previous Megane and 3.4 percent lower than its nearest competitor.
Low total cost of ownership
Figures show that a 130hp petrol model in the same trim will cost £1,354 – again topping the class. As a result of these improvements, the Megane moves up from seventh to second in the class for total cost of ownership.
