Harking back to the very first Mini from 1959, the Austin Seven, this latest special edition of the MINI hatchback aims to bring a bit more exclusivity to the range.

Available in three- and five-door form, customers can choose from the four engines already found in the Cooper, Cooper D, Cooper S and Cooper SD. The cheapest Mini Seven three-door hatch can be had for £18,545, costing just over £3,000 more than the typical derivative they are based on.

Economical or performance diesel models available

The 1.5-litre Cooper D with its three-cylinder engine emits 97g/km and will sit in the 16 percent BIK tax band. As well as being the cleanest engine in the range, this will also be the most economical achieving 76.3mpg.

For those willing to compromise on mpg for a bit more bhp, the faster 2-litre Cooper SD will still achieve 67.3mpg, while emitting 110g/km and sitting in the 19 percent BIK band.

P11D values are yet to be released but a typical 1.5-litre Cooper D three-door will cost a 20 percent taxpayer just under £45 per month. A typical Cooper SD three-door costs just under £63 per month.

High standard specification

Standard features include a Lapisluxury blue paint finish, a silver roof and door mirror caps, plus 17-inch, two-tone alloy wheels. If you’re adverse to blue, you can choose from white, black and green alternatively. Silver bonnet stripes with a brown edging can be optioned as an additional touch.
