  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

Not entirely sure... I'm a sensible person for buying a 5 door medium sized hatchback.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

I think they like it, no one has really commented on the car. I think it's a default choice for a lot of families.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I certainly would, maybe with the 1.8 duratec engine though. The 1.6 petrol is fine around town, but can be a little noisy on motorways. I would probably prefer a C-Max.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Ford C-Max 2.0 TDCi 136 Titanium - I'd love one!

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £3,999

When did you buy the car?

    April 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

They didn't discount the car, but they did throw in 6 months worth of road tax.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

This is my first car. I have driven my dad's C-Max (2008) and Focus (2011) and loved them. So when I came to buy a car, I wanted a Focus.

    What was the dealer like?

Very polite, no pushy salesman, a pleasure to deal with. The dealership: The Car People, Ashton Under Lyne.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

It handles beautifully and drives very well considering it's 8 years old. I have driven far newer cars (Peugeot 207) which don't feel confident in the bends.

    What's it like to park?

I find it easy and not a problem at all. The steering can be a little heavy but I find it's not a problem.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Yes - under warranty; I had the battery, alternator, fan belt, washer jets, thermostat replaced. The dealer were great. I had to have the front suspension bushes replaced as they had split. The car has done 70K, so I take it, these are just wear and tear.

What's most practical about your car?

The boot! The car is very spacious and I love it!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

I suppose my favourite items are the ones fitted specifically to my Sport model (over the LX trim). Alloys, front fog lamps and leather steering wheel. I especially like the colour, tonic blue!
