Other Jaguar XJ (2010 - 2019) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

I like to think it says that I am suave and sophisticated; but don't we all want our cars to say that about us?

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

All the neighbours love it and want to play with the gadgets ( except for Mr.BMW across the road who is trying his best to ignore it ).

Would you buy this car again and why?

Possibly, but I do not have a good track record of buying the same car twice as I like a change - however brilliant the current Jag is.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Possibly an Aston Martin Rapide.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £28,000

When did you buy the car?

    February 2012

Did you get a good deal and why?

Exact spec that i wanted, down to the interior trim.11,000 miles, 12 months old, looked brand new,32,500 off list price. Why buy a new one?

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I wanted to upgrade from an XF.

    What was the dealer like?

Excellent. Gave me a car to play with for the weekend then sourced the exact spec that I wanted ( and didn't appear to mind too much when I haggled ! ).

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Effortless if you just want to cruise along but great fun on country lanes if you put it in sports mode and play with the flappy panels. steering and handling in tight bends not quite as good as my previous XF due to bulk.

    What's it like to park?

Rubbish! Do not take a long wheelbase car to Tesco's as it won't fit ( and it's too wide ). However, if you are lucky enough to find a space that is wide and long enough then the reversing camera is a boon.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Not a single fault, rattle or niggle.

What's most practical about your car?

Get in, press the start button, point it in the right direction and off you go. Effortless motoring.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The dual screen that thinks it is a TV and a Sat Nav at the same time - never fails to impress. Auto dipping and turning headlights are brilliant.
