Overview

As its name suggests – the XKR is the high performance version of the standard XK and uses a supercharged version of the same V8 engine to provide thunderous pace along with a wonderful noise. It’s intoxicatingly fast while the engine is incredibly responsive with power reserves available even at high revs. Inside it’s as cosseting and refined as you’d expect from a Jaguar, with a modern and well equipped cabin.

It may not be as good in corners as alternatives like the Porsche 911 and it isn’t cheap to run either, but then few cars that offer this performance are. In short, the XKR is Jaguar at its best.
