How reliable do you find the car?

The car was pristine cosmetically with a FSH and I got it at a great price at £5k at 80,000. I took it to the garage to be looked over after picking it up. I was told to replace the front bushes, and change the gearbox oil and filter as precautionary measures. I also repainted the rear wheel arches. All in it came to £1,500. I was happy to pay this based on the purchase price. Since then and 4000 miles later the car has been FAULTLESS. I drive it once a week. It runs as smoothly as silk and is a joy to drive. I don't anticipate any other big costs for a while. And since there's no depreciation spending a bit more on any repairs is fine!

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

It is a joy to drive and I love the sense of occasionevery time I get behind the wheel. It has a charm and character lacking in the new model or German cars, yet remains functional, and practical as well as luxurious. I feel special at the wheel. It gets SO MUCH attention too. A wonderful machine. Great boot, great pace, great comfort. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the doom mongers you read on forums: only unhappy drivers write in generally so the overall image of the car is overly negative. It's not a fair representation. I was initially put off but I am so glad I didn't listen and took a chance. As long as you find a car that has been serviced well you'll be fine.
