What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 31 - 42 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Service intervals of just 9,000 miles mean the diesel-powered Patriot needs regular maintenance compared to other similar-sized 4x4s. Fuel economy is acceptable though with the CRD able to return 42mpg, while insurance group ratings are 10 for the petrol engine and 11 for the CRD.
The Patriot is actually fairly green for an off-roader and emits less CO2 on average than many alternatives. However compared to normal family hatchbacks and smaller estates, it’s less impressive. The CRD model emits 180g/km of CO2 and returns 42mpg.
Reliability of the Patriot is expected to be good and all models are covered by Jeep’s three-year/60,000-mile mechanical warranty, seven-year anti-corrosion warranty and 12 months’ European roadside assistance.
