What does this car say about you?

I went for the Sport model - which has 18" alloys, so I guess it says I'm a bit of a @**@! Hopefully is says I'm someone who likes driving and thinks about style, and wants more than just practicality (my last car).

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They think it's smart I think! They like it's easy speed and smoothness which makes journeys a pleasure.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, probably. I'd look hard at the auto I think (or testdrive a few more manuals!).

Don't know! Only just got this one!

Did you get a good deal and why?

I hope so! Was recommended the dealership by a colleague and dealt with the same sales rep.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Upgrade on my previous vehicle (Ford Cmax). I wanted something smarter, quicker, and with more features.

What was the dealer like?

Very professional and helpful. The site and buildings aren't as grand or smart as some of the other Mercedes Franchises I visited while looking, but the staff were good.

What's it like to drive?

Pleasingly quick (1.8l Petrol, manual, 156bhp), with good breaks. I find the manual gearbox/clutch a bit clumsy between 1st/2nd/3rd (it is difficult to make a very smooth change especially when accelerating), and overall the gearbox has a slightly 'loose' feel (just the way the gearstick moves in the hand). That having been said, it is still a fun car to drive.

What's it like to park?

Pretty easy, though I'm not too impressed with the parking sensors which only sound alert you quite late - though the dash mounted lights do indicate your distance from an obstruction before that. Lock is okay - but not as good as the Cmax I had before!

Have you had any problems with the car?

No, not yet - only three weeks in.

What's most practical about your car?

The powered boot is great, as are the auto headlights/wipers.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The COMAND system is smart and easy to use, it has a great sound system.
