Overview

Mercedes AMGs are renowned for their immensely powerful engines and the CLK version is no different. Originally fitted with a 5.4-litre V8, later models have a 6.2-litre V8 (actually badged 63) with a whopping 481bhp and a 0-62mph time of just 4.7 seconds. It’s as thunderous behind the wheel as it looks on paper, with immense power available in any gear and a superb sound from the sports-tuned exhaust.

It’s available as a coupe – or if you want to be flash – a convertible. It’s not cheap to buy or run, but if you want a high performance and useable two-door, the CLK is a strong contender.
