MG Motor UK MG3 1.5 VTi-TECH 3Form Sport 5d Owner Review

I feel saddened in having to write this but having had mgs all my life our son bought a 2 year old mg3 which he loves but last November an engine fault developed which turns out to be a stretched timing chain which MG will not honour as the garage we bought it from neglected to tell us that the 1st service had not been carried out. BEWARE this is a manufacturing fault which is becoming an issue on MG3s there are owners out there with the same problems as we have and MG refuse to accept there is a problem. I suspect the other review on this site is the same problem as we are experiencing and could cost a new engine. I would advise all MG3 owners to make sure they have their car serviced within the warranty period as this could cost thousands. Just to add insult to injury there is no workshop manual available yet so as a trained MG technician I cannot remove the engine as there are no torque settings for the engine to put it back together. So we have a lovely MG 3 ornament in our drive which we cannot afford to repair THANK YOU MG
