Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 32 - 38 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Insurance is average for this class, fuel consumption is OK and servicing is reasonable. As it shares many parts with other Rover models, parts tend to be cheap. Depreciation is slow.

Indifferent build quality on early cars and the K-Series 1.8 engine is well-known for head gasket problems. Interior trim tends to rattly and often comes loose. Electrical problems are not unknown.
