Overview

The MINI Coupe is set to divide opinion with its individualistic looks. From first glance the newest MINI looks like a baseball cap worn backwards but don’t let that put you off because the Coupe in John Cooper Works specification is the fastest MINI in production. Pictures don’t do the Coupe justice because it just looks much cooler in the metal. It may have a sleek design, but it’s not just been styled for its head-turning looks: the raked back windscreen (13 degrees more rake than a hatch) has improved the car’s aerodynamics aiding quicker 0-62mph times while improving CO2 and fuel economy.

MINI is setting its sights at rivals that include the Renault Megane Coupe, the Audi TT, VW’s Scirocco and the maker has even stated that the Coupe could be an alternative to the Porsche Cayman. Now that is a bold statement. Can the Coupe set hearts racing? Read on to find out…
