The old CB500 neatly bridged the gap between commuter and sportsbike. This new version keeps the excellent engine, but adds clean new styling, a comfier seat and a compact ABS system (now standard). It ditches the old steel cradle frame and twin shock rear suspension in favour of a steel backbone and monoshock based on the 600 Hornet's design. That gives better ride quality and improved ground clearance. Recommended as a first big bike.
