I own a 2002 VW Passat. Road tax is due to increase by £200!!! Think it is time the drivers of this country joined forces to stop the abuse that we receive from the transport dept of New Labour! And NO, I will not be downsizing. Why should I change a slightly older but superb car just to keep the government happy. Cows in fields emit more C02 than cars , what next a Field Tax?!

I have a 2006 Indian Bajaj 3 wheel, 3 seat, autorickshaw. 173cc engine, the CO2 emissions are not on the V form. It is rated as a tricycle the same as a Reliant and I have to pay £66 road tax whereas a Smart Car only pays £35. Where is the justice in this?

Scrap car tax and pay through the pump then the more fuel you use the more you pay, that will cover for the 4x4 user who will use more fuel than the smaller cars and will cover for the people whe only cover a small milage per year, comments please????

My wife has driven a Ford Sport KA for the past two years and in that time has only covered 5,000 miles per year!
In 2010 it will cost her £270.00 to tax it.
A Toyota Aygo driver who covers the average annual mileage of 12,000 miles per year will emit more CO2 annually and pay only £35.00 road tax.
This can't be fair, surely the mileage covered per annum should be taken into consideration?

How can someone drive some clapped out car with no emmision control and pay less than someone with a modern vehicle which produces less harmful emmisions! It's yet ANOTHER STEALTH TAX for the average family. It should be based on M.O.T emmisions at time of test.

I only found out about the change in tax prices from this website, luckily I can chose my car accordingly now. This government are a complete waste of time and are just money grabbing leeches!

This sums it all up. NOBODY has a clue what's going on. Even the Government don't have any idea how the tax rules work.
