Nissan Almera Tino Estate engines, drive and performance

Tino gets three powerplants: a 115 bhp 1.8 and 110 and 135 bhp 2.2 turbodiesels. The 1.8 is a little unrefined and will struggle with a full complement of passengers. The 135 bhp 2.2 is the best engine, but commands a hefty premium.

More car-like handling than most midi-MPVs (but that is because it’s essentially a tall estate car). Gearbox feels slick; power-assisted steering is precise and well-weighted. The ride is supple on all but the most bumpy of surfaces, but there’s too much bodyroll.
