Peugeot 207 running costs are fairly low. The diesel engines return strong fuel economy and Peugeot generally offers good value-for-money parts and servicing. Depreciation is likely to track just below the market leaders, while insurance groups are competitive.
Estimated fuel cost per year

* The estimated fuel cost figure is based on an annual mileage of 10,000 miles and is a guide to how much this model will cost in fuel each year. It's calculated using the model's average MPG (calculated from both town centre and motorway driving) and the average fuel price from around the country. Actual fuel costs will vary based on driving style and road conditions. Fuel prices are updated daily.

How much is it to insure?
Vehicle excise duty (VED) varies according to the CO2 emissions and the fuel type of the vehicle. For cars registered before 01 March 2001 it is based on engine size. For cars registered on or after 01 March 2001 the VED or road tax is based on the car's CO2 emissions.
The 207 performs very well on the eco front. With an average of 141g/km CO2 across the line-up, Peugeot 207 emissions are fairly low for a small hatch. Eco-conscious buyers should consider the 1.4-litre HDi, which is one of the greenest models in the range, returning 64mpg and emitting 117g/km of CO2, meaning road tax is cheap. In June 2010 Peugeot added a 112bhp 1.6-litre HDi in Sport trim to its line-up.
This 'hot' diesel powered car returns 61.3mpg and emits 119g/km of CO2 emissions. This gives this variant a tax band of C.
Highest and lowest CO2 emissions
|Engine||CO2 emissions||Road tax (12 months)|
|1.6 HDI (92bhp) Diesel||98 g/km (Min)||£0|
|1.6 16V THP (175bhp) Petrol||171 g/km (Max)||£220|
Peugeot 207 reliability shouldn't cause you many problems. The 207 feels solid and there should be few problems from the strong diesel engines. There have been electrical problems in previous Peugeot products in the past and there have already been several recalls on the 207.
