Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 39 - 74 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Peugeot 207 running costs are fairly low. The diesel engines return strong fuel economy and Peugeot generally offers good value-for-money parts and servicing. Depreciation is likely to track just below the market leaders, while insurance groups are competitive.

The 207 performs very well on the eco front. With an average of 141g/km CO2 across the line-up, Peugeot 207 emissions are fairly low for a small hatch. Eco-conscious buyers should consider the 1.4-litre HDi, which is one of the greenest models in the range, returning 64mpg and emitting 117g/km of CO2, meaning road tax is cheap. In June 2010 Peugeot added a 112bhp 1.6-litre HDi in Sport trim to its line-up.

This ‘hot’ diesel powered car returns 61.3mpg and emits 119g/km of CO2 emissions. This gives this variant a tax band of C.

Peugeot 207 reliability shouldn’t cause you many problems. The 207 feels solid and there should be few problems from the strong diesel engines. There have been electrical problems in previous Peugeot products in the past and there have already been several recalls on the 207.
