What does this car say about you?

A value for money purchase at the time but now ....

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They are very neutral to the car, rather forgettable.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No, many better cars on the market.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Not sure.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £6,995

When did you buy the car?

    July 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Arnold Clark dealership - yes, a good deal.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    What was the dealer like?

Clearly geared towards selling, little time to browse before a salesperson came up to you. And, if you made it clear that you weren't interested in buying at that point, their interest - and courtesy - quickly cooled.

  • Driving it

    2 out of 5 2.0

    What's it like to drive?

    Ordinary, nothing special.

    What's it like to park?

A nightmare. The sloping lines of the body mean that you think you are right against the car behind you until you get out when you're miles away. Impossible to judge. And, as for the lock on the steering wheel ....

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Lots - sensors giving incorrect warnings (such as ABS being inoperative when clearly they are); bulbs going every few weeks; harsh ride with lots of clunking noises (even though it did pass the MOT); the worst steering lock I have ever experienced (chieftan tanks have a smaller turning circle); radio display becomes discoloured and illegible after driving for a while (and from the off in warm weather); boot small for the overall size of the car and glove box so tiny as to be useless. Very slow in second gear.

What's most practical about your car?

It gets you from A to B in relative comfort (except for the ride).

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    Er ... none, really.
