  • Summary

    2 out of 5 2.0

What does this car say about you?

    Company rep.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Looks good. Less impressed than by previous German cars though.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Absolutely no way! It's hopelessly over-priced and with poor build quality. Quoted economy of 78mpg is laughable (should read 45mpg) and the inability to find a comfortable driving position means I'll be looking to change company car as soon as humanly possible.

What are you likely to buy next?

VW CC, BMW 3 or maybe the new Mondeo when that comes out.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £32,000

When did you buy the car?

    December 2012

Did you get a good deal and why?

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    Company car ... low tax.

    What was the dealer like?

    What's it like to drive?

In 4 months I still haven't managed to find a comfortable driving position. The arm rests are out of reach (I'm 5'9" and average build) and the steering wheel reach adjustment doesn't go far enough. I've had to compromise my driving position and now have a stiff neck and shoulders after longer journeys. As a result I try and avoid long journeys in this car.

    What's it like to park?

Decent visibility and rear parking sensors help a lot. The automatic gearbox can make fine manoeuvres difficult as you can't ride the clutch.

Have you had any problems with the car?

I've had the car for 4 months now and it's gone back for windscreen washer repairs. It now needs to go back for wiper repairs and to fix a couple of rattles. Flappy paddle shifters don't always work. Keyless entry/locking is very temperamental. Peugeot have disabled AM/MW reception on the radio due to electrical interference (although Peugeot don't tell you this). You have to experience the wind noise to believe it. A £33k car shouldn't have such poor build quality.

What's most practical about your car?

Plenty of room and lots of legroom for passengers. Very low company car tax. Very well specced (auto, sat nav, climate control etc).

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

When it works the remote entry/locking is a great feature. You can open/lock the car by just touching any of the door handles.
