What does this car say about you?

That I needed a Mondeo-sized car but wanted to go a bit leftfield. Also that I was prepared to give Renault a chance after the dreadful Mk2 Laguna. I never owned one, but they had a poor reputation that Renault have moved mountains to fix with this one. It generally seems to have paid off, but te prices stay low.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Intrigued and generally impressed. You don't see many about.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, six mo9nths in and I'm not bored of it which is unusual for me. I plan to keep this one for a while and get a 180bhp chip as soon as I can change insurer.

What are you likely to buy next?

Possibly a Laguna estate, or Range Rover/5 Series if I'm doing well enough.

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes, it was two days before Christmas.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I needed a large comfy car at short-ish notice.

What was the dealer like?

OK, by far the best I visited but that wasn't hard.

What's it like to drive?

Amazing in-gear performance and very comfortable but a rubbish gearchange lets it down.

What's it like to park?

Poor - get parking sensors if you can, I will get them retrofitted soon. A poor turning circle doesn';t help.

Have you had any problems with the car?

The fuel cap lock failed shut at a filling station - had to limp to a garange and get it removed, although I now gather there is a manual override.

What's most practical about your car?

Space, comfort and performance.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The speed limiter/cruise control switch.
