Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 36 - 50 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

One of the cheapest Rovers to run, although Rover servicing and parts are not known always known for value. Entry level 211 offers just group 3 insurance and 42mpg which is good. The 220D manages around 50mpg! Done most of its depreciating, so re-sale values are not quite as worrying as they once were.

A range of minor (and not so minor) faults plagued the 200; most have now been sorted. See our owners’ reviews section for more details.
