  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

    Practical.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They liked its comfort and space. Seats 5 great.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I had this for 4.5 years and got bored with it at the end. At the end it seemed to get more van like by the mile?! (That is probably just me, but I wouldn't put the music on because I had to have it so loud to hear above engine and road noise.(deaf old me).

What are you likely to buy next?

I have bought a Peugeot 508 Allure 2L Diesel Saloon.

    September 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

Got a fair deal, not fantastic.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    What was the dealer like?

Eric Carter of Middlesbrough was very good. No fuss, part exchange. The car had no warranty problems so can't say what that service was like.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Handled very, very well even with that tall shape. Never felt short of oomph. It got a bit noisy latterly at 50000 miles.

    What's it like to park?

Reverse parking sensors (essential for this car IMHO) made it easy.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

I have just p-ex'ed it for another car after 4.5 years. The electric window mechanism went on the fron passenger window and cost about 110 to fix. This apparently is a common problem. The window mechanism on the driver s door was starting to squel so that would have needed doing in a year or two. Otherwise, no problems and reasonable service charges using an independent VW/SEAT/Audi/Skoda specialist garage. (Ron Turnbull, Middlesbrough.Excellent!) One annoyance is that the timing belt needs changing every 30000 miles. (A VW 2L diesel engine). Pfft!!!

What's most practical about your car?

Space, space and more space. Pretty comfortable.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Automatic lights, Reverse parking sensor, Climate control, Automatic window wipers.
