Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 36 - 62 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Thanks to a range of economical engines the Exeo is affordable to run. SEAT dealer servicing is reasonably priced and usually cheaper than a Volkswagen franchise would charge while insurance should be fairly cheap with group 9 for the 2.0 TDI 120 and group 12 for the 143bhp version.

The Exeo performs well in terms of emissions with an average of 158g/km CO2 across the range. The cleanest models are the 120bhp and 143bhp versions of the 2.0-litre TDI which both emit 143g/km of CO2 and average 51mpg.

The Exeo shares components with Audi and Volkswagen models, so should prove very reliable. The 2005 Audi A4, on which it is based, has a strong reputation for durability.
