Other SEAT Leon (2000 - 2005) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

I've not followed the crowd, got the car I want and one that'll leave all the boy racers standing. Only people who know cars know that this one is special.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Everyone loves it, mine's grey and no-one has said a bad thing or comment on the car in general. It looks like a mans car.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No. My car before this was a SEAT Leon SE, this is my last SEAT, so I wanted to go out with a bang and get 225BHP. I love the looks though; shame its not being made anymore.

What are you likely to buy next?

Most likely an Audi S3 or the new 240BHP Cupra. Both the S3 and the new Leon Cupra can be chipped to 300BHP....interesting.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £12,775

When did you buy the car?

    July 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

No deals, not even a full tank of petrol, I only got floor mats because the previous owner bought them

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I've wanted a Cupra R from the first time i saw one. Looks are stunning, subtle, masculine, very fast and smooth, also very quiet inside, even at "high speed".

    What was the dealer like?

Pressurising, pushy, felt like he wanted a quick sale.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Great fun to drive, so comfortable driving at the speed limit as it’s more powerful and doesn't strain because of the 6 gears.

    What's it like to park?

Really easy to park, the back of the car is flat so it’s easy to judge, I sit with my seat high anyway, so I can easily see the front of the car.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Not yet, only had it about 4 weeks

What's most practical about your car?

5 door hatch, back seats go down so loads of room for moving big things.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

I love the white dials; it locks itself once 10MPH has been reached. When I unlock the car, it only opens the drivers door, I have to press the key twice to open the whole car......the boot locks itself, that’s a great touch. The red stitching in the seats, gear stick and steering wheel are nice, don’t like the red bits on the heater vents but that’s petty.
