Other SEAT Leon (2013 - 2020) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

That I like something that looks stylish, is quick, but not impractical. Also that I've got more sense than overpaying for a BMW 1 series, Audi A3 or Golf.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    They like it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yeah. Would consider a Leon again in future if Seat keep their game up.

What are you likely to buy next?

Maybe a Leon, possibly a Golf, or I'd even consider a Focus if Ford start making nice looking cars again in future.

  • Buying experience

    5 out of 5 5.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £16,000

When did you buy the car?

    July 2015

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yeah. Got the Tech Pack and Titanium Pack on the car. It had low mileage and and the highest spec diesel engine. Plus, they gave me a better than expected part-ex price on my car.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Wanted a VW group car. Almost got a Golf but would've been paying over £2000 more for lower spec.

    What was the dealer like?

Very good. Friendly, not pushy, very nice to deal with.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Fantastic. Tons of grip with a sharp gear change and steering. Only down-points - Steering does lack a bit of feedback and whilst cruising, the wing mirrors create a fair bit of wind noise due to their shape. Also, the claimed 65mpg combined is pure fantasy. If the trip computer is right, then I can't get over 50mpg on a combined run. I do a fair bit of city driving and only get around 45mpg no matter how careful I am with the throttle.

    What's it like to park?

Easy enough. It's got front and rear parking sensors and isn't a huge car so no problems at all.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

The electric folding wing mirrors, don't work if you move the switch too quickly. You have to slowly move it into position.

What's most practical about your car?

5 doors. Good sized boot and a surprising amount of leg-room in the back seats for a car of it's size.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The engine is superb. Loads of power, tons of torque and has a surprisingly nice metallic roar when putting your foot down. The Sport mode is also quite addictive as it tightens the throttle, and a speaker on the dash pumps through a petrol engine growl sound.
