In their own words

Very nice car. Quick and looks the business. The interior is straight out of an Audi but for quite a bit less money. If you don't mind the badge and are open minded enough to understand that the Skoda of now is a totally different company from the Skoda of the past. Obviously they're now part of the VAG (VW Audi Group) so it's the build and drive quality you'd expect from its more renowned cousins for considerably less! LOOKS - It always turns heads and many a time I've returned to the car park to find someone admiring it. Mine is the metallic black and it is perfectly off set with the VRS 230 19" black cloverleaf wheels and black grill etc. Not sure why Skoda decided that it needed to advertise the 230bhp with a sticker on the door but it doesn't look out if place. It's optional so no dramas. DRIVE - I've owned and driven plenty of fast cars and the VRS 230 holds its own. It's not the fastest nor is it the best handling but it's got to be the best drive for your money by far. In its class you can't really fault it. Mine is the Auto DSG version but if I'm honest I wouldn't have chosen this by choice. I much prefer a manual as I like to actually drive the car. The DSG paddles are good but it's not the same for me. It was either take the one in the show room at a considerable discount or wait months for one with my chosen spec. It's certainly not a negative point, just personal preference. PRACTICALITY - I have the estate and with a dog and a couple of kids it's excellent. The boot is a very good size and there is plenty of room within the car for everyone to travel in comfort. The full leather seats look great and hold you in position when driving hard. The touchscreen system and sat nav are easy to use and you can personalise your preferences with no trouble. SUMMARY - All in all I can't fault it. I would definitely recommend a VRS 230 without hesitation. For that little bit more money you get A LOT more included in the 230 package over your normal VRS! As previously stated if I had to find a negative then it would be the size of the fuel tank. For what is a sports estate presumably aimed at the family man then SKODA should've thought that one through a bit better. Not a great drama but can get a little annoying. Overall, excellent car :0 )

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Very nice car throughout. My only one grumble would be that the fuel tank is WAY to small. The fuel economy is good (if you don't floor it everywhere!) but you're forever having to refill it. You're lucky to get 300 miles from a tank!!!
