• Summary

What does this car say about you?

That I am no longer concerned about looking good in a 'nice expensive car.' I have finally figured out the marketing guff and used my head to buy a car instead. This is perfect for the two of us.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They like it. I have heard the word 'cute' more than once. They are quite surprised when they get in how big it is in the front. It is a bit of a squeeze in the back, but the back is quite flexible for such a small car.

Would you buy this car again and why?

In a heartbeat. It's one of the best cars out there. It's a little gem and ours is no exception to the iQ range. The base model is fine for us, especially as it's -currently at least- Tax free.

What are you likely to buy next?

Why, what a silly question. An iQ of course. One with leather seats next time.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £6,000

When did you buy the car?

    September 2011

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes. We put our 1999 T reg 2.0 Auto Mondeo in part-ex.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Economy, no road tax, to downsize to a better more economical car due to robbing government constantly mugging the motorist.

    What was the dealer like?

Good, but only dealt with them over the phone as they are over 200 miles away. Bought over the Interweb.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Fantastic, if a bit bouncy -no uncomfortable though- on our crappy road network. Some roads aren't too bad, but the rural roads where I live are shocking. Shame on you Gov for not using that road tax for fixing roads. Sometimes, when accelerating hard -not often- it can sound a little like an air-cooled Porsche.

    What's it like to park?

A doddle. Fantastic steering lock, brings a smile to my face every time I go out in it.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

No. However, the AVG MPG display computer -also displays other information- did not go over 60mpg. Replaced under warranty and best yet was 74mpg!

What's most practical about your car?

The front area. It's so spacious you wouldn't know you are in a very small car. There is more room in the front for shoulders than a Land Rover! IMO.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

CD Player, closely followed by Air-Con, Lecky windows and the Traction control. Oh, and even though I don't use it -nothing to put in it- the MP3 player connection.
