Cargo Capacity

There is a choice of roof heights and - for the first time - both short and long wheelbases on the Doblo Cargo. The standard model offers 3.4 cubic metres of load volume and payloads of 750kg or 1,000kg. The high-roof versions allow for the same payload depending on wheelbase with a cubic space of 4.0 metres. This means that either version can carry two standard sized pallets comfortably. Twin asymmetric opening rear doors come as standard or a tailgate version can be specified. All models, except the standard Cargo, come with twin sliding side doors so accessing the rear is simple. The Doblo Cargo is also available as a Combi meaning it can seat up to five people as well as taking a load of 205kg in the short wheelbase version and 450kg in the long wheelbase model. SX models come with a PVC load lining but it's optional on the standard Cargo.

Safety and Security

The Doblo Cargo comes with a driver’s airbag as standard with a passenger airbag and curtain airbags available as options. All models get ABS as standard but ESP stability control with Hill Holder function only comes as a cost option. Buyers can also get rear parking sensors and an alarm as cost options. Central locking is standard but remote locking is only standard on SX models.

Costs

Standard equipment on the Doblo Cargo is competitive with other small vans and includes power steering, central locking, electric front windows, steering height adjustment, passenger seat under tray, ABS, a CD stereo and a driver's airbag. You'll have to pay extra for air-conditioning though as it's not standard on any model. All the engines are cheap to run but it's the 1.3 MultiJet with 90bhp which is the best with economy of 59mpg. A gearshift indicator is standard which tells the driver when it's the optimal time to change gear.

Reliability

Service intervals have been increased compared to the previous version with the MultiJet models requiring attention every 21,000 miles. It feels well built with the interior hardwearing enough to cope with daily bumps and scrapes.
