What does this car say about you?

I have absolutly no idea Been wanting one of these for years any way! didn't get it to look "cool", i wanted it because I reckon it was cool! :) I guess it's saying "look at this guy! he's a poser" lol i know i own one but i saw myself in a picture with the door open and windows down and i looked like such a poser :( not good but i don't care the grin factor is high once you own one! :) (in my opinion anyway)

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

HMMMM all were quite shocked really. It's a nice looking car with perfomance to match (finally for the cars i've owned) All my friends are jealous of me now hehe!! but they all know i've been wanting one for such a long time. Even parents and missus approve of it!

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes because i love the mk4 astra coupe's! but it'll have to be a turbo again though. It's like a dream car for me even though its very affordable, but everyone has a different dream car :)

What are you likely to buy next?

Another coupe turbo? I've honestly no idea now. I mean like i've allready said i've got my dream car! :)

  • Buying experience

    5 out of 5 5.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £4,500

When did you buy the car?

    June 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

Definetly got a good deal. I didn't have the hassle of selling my old car and part exchanged it.... though we did negociate for a while on the price of my previous car. but the deal as a whole was brilliant! got 6 months tax, MOT, and replaced rocker cover gasket (it was leaking) all for free.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Only reason I bought the car is that i wanted more power (previous car being a 1.4 16v LS mk4 astra)

    What was the dealer like?

Very friendly, but like all dealers they probably could of gone lower and still had a profit :) but that's dealers for you.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Brilliant as standard! Corners very confidently, as for standard suspension it's got very little body roll for road use.... but i suggest for those who want to use it for track days or just like to drive it harder to get the suspensions uprated. But suspension is definetly an improvement over the old mk4 LS 1.4 16v astra :) Performance wise it's extremely nippy, happy chug along all day on the motorway with a full car without you (the driver) actually feeling that the car is slow

    What's it like to park?

with those big wing mirrors it's alot easier to park than most small cars as you can see more of outside then just the side of you car through them, but through the rear window it's slightly more difficult, but its not impossible without parking sensors!

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

ermmmm. A few niggly little things. upon start up it hesitates. But this has been sorted already! went to change spark plugs and they wasn't even screwed in properly. The windows creak alot when winding up or down. the standard radio seems to stick out. though this could be the previous owner at fault though. other than that nope!

What's most practical about your car?

the boot space is massive! got a picture on my phone of a friend (quite a big person too) just lying inside of it smiling!:) So easily fit the weekly shopping in. and without comprimising performance either.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

the pillerless windows! specially when you open and close them! When you open/close them the window goes down slightly. Air-cons a definete plus, and a constant mpg read out on the multi functional display is very handy when you want to drive economically.
