Vauxhall Astra Saloon (1998 - 2004) 1.6i Club 4d Owner Review

After passing my driving test I set out on buying a cheap, run-around that I could use to further improve my driving skills without the worry of damaging a brand new car. Although I never caused any damage to the car, I had to get rid of it after less than a year as my insurance premiums more than double due to the extra mileage I found myself doing. Most people would shy away from a Vauxhall Astra, but if you are looking for a solid car that will just work, you can't go wrong. Loads and loads of space, relatively comfortable driving position and a pretty decent fuel economy for its age, the Astra should be worth considering for any car buyer who isn't looking to win 1/4 mile drag races or concourse shows.
