Other Vauxhall Astra (2009 - 2018) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Not really sure and don't really care.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Not really sure and don't really care.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Company car, not my choice, BUT if I did not drive an Astra day and daily for work, I might consider one. They are reliable and this current Mk VI model is very well finished and refined though poor on seat comfort.

What are you likely to buy next?

Depends on my employer's choice. I suspect Vauxhall.

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    April 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

I suppose my employer got a good deal.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

No it would not have been my choice. This is a company car supplied with no choice regarding make, model or engine size.

    What was the dealer like?

OK. The car had been purchased by my employer so I simply collected it.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Surprisingly nimble and very good to drive. The overall refinement compared to the previous model (Mk V) is streets ahead of anything Vauxhall had previously offered in a car of this size. A little slow (Read that as very slow) off the mark, BUT once on the move feels lively and responsive and will cruse without too much fuss at motorway speeds with sufficient torque in reserve when required. This model however is screaming out for a six speed gearbox which would not only make higher speed cruising more relaxing, but would add significantly to economy. As is usual for smaller Vauxhalls comfort is poor.

    What's it like to park?

    OK

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Too early to say as the car has only just passed the 1000 mile mark, but I would expect it to be be fairly reliable and robust judging by the previous Mk V Astra model.

What's most practical about your car?

    Space for a small estate.
