What does this car say about you?

Looking to save money on running costs. (cheaper insurance than my 7 year old previous car, £30 pa road tax and great MPG).

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    Thumbs up.

Would you buy this car again and why?

So far, yes I would although in the ideal world I would like a bigger boot and I may regret not having the 4WD in bad weather.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £26,326

When did you buy the car?

    May 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

I had a good idea which model I wanted and a wish list of extras but needed a car asap as existing car tax and mot was due to expire. The model I bought was an unregistered cancelled order which ticked all the boxes and Vauxhall finance offers and 0% over 5 years made it worthwhile.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Wanted economical car suitable for dogs and family. Friend has this model and liked it. Trusted car sales team at the Vauxhall dealership better than the local Ford garage.

    What was the dealer like?

I have known the sales person at this dealership in excess of 20 years and trusted his judgement. He even gave me his car to take out to try before I committed. Rest of team also very helpful.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Comfortable. A little worried that it is quite low to the ground and I do park on rough ground sometimes when I walk the dogs.

    What's it like to park?

The lack of handbrake worried me when parallel parking but soon got the hang of it. Used to driving a bigger 4WD so size not an issue and turning circle reasonable.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Only had the car a couple of weeks so not yet other than a nail in the tyre which may or may not of been picked up during delivery. Dealership put a new one on FOC anyway.

What's most practical about your car?

Versatile space, nice spec makes it a good place to be sat.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Initially I thought I would not cope with the button "handbrake" but now I'm trusting the car more it is good. The Hill assist is excellent too although again, it's taken me a week or two to get used to it. I was fortunate that this cancelled order came with Sat nav and blue tooth too, both plus's from my wish list.
