Overview

The Passat is well known as a sensible and reliable family car – available as a saloon and an estate. But the Passat CC changes that. Longer, wider and significantly lower than the standard model, the CC (it stands for Comfort Coupe, not coupe convertible) is an elegant saloon that’s designed strictly for four. The sharper styling doesn’t detract from the practicality though and it still offers plenty of passenger and boot space.

It may not have the folding roof the name suggests, but it does have the pizzazz and a list of luxury features that allow it to be a realistic alternative to models from BMW and Audi. In 2011 VW fitted Bluemotion technology to both the Standard and GT versions that delivered lower emissions and improved fuel consumption.
