A lot of seats for the money!
Costs
Seems to be about the same as my previous car - a Golf. Nothing shocking like a BMW.

Driving
Not as good as a car, but pretty good for an MPV. Not at all "van like".
Performance
Considering the weight etc not bad at all, but then you don't want to race around when it's full of kids.

Was great but now at 4 years old starting to pick up a few issues. Anti roll bar broke, A/C packed up, spare wheel winch seized, driver door lock seized.

Getting old so don't care any longer!. Always happy behind a VW badge. Most people who have been in it seem to be impressed by the Sharan.
Comfort
Driven to Switzerland in a day several times with no back ache or foot/leg ache. No complaints here. Plenty of legroom in rear, third row particularly good when compared to some.

High oil consumption (common on TDI's - had same on Golf). Rattly and gutless when cold, but given a minute to warm up is fine.
Other
Broken anti roll back fixed under warranty, common problem on these apparently.
