More practical V70
Less pleasant to drive V70
Closely related to the V70, but with fewer engine and trim options, the XC70 features an elevated ride height and permanent all-wheel drive system. It is given some further visual distinction by the addition of black bumpers, nose and wheel arches, although it certainly doesn't look as chunky as a proper off-roader. Lacking serious all-terrain hardware the XC70's off-road capability is relatively lacking, however it will certainly deal with muddy tracks and gymkhana car parks.
The downside is that it feels almost as uninspiring to drive as a full blown off-roader. It is more practical than a regular V70 though.
