How much space is there?

Its cabin is usefully roomy for something offering this much pace. There’s a decent amount of room in the front, and while there are rear seats, they’re best reserved for short journeys.

The seats provide a great balance between comfort and support, holding you upright through corners, but not being so bulky that they’re difficult to climb in and out of.

Boot space and storage

Open up the boot and you’ll discover 270 litres worth of space. It’s well shaped and wide enough for a couple of large suitcases, perfect for whisking a couple off to the south of France. A cliche – sure – but one that Aston Martin assures us is reflective of the DB11’s usage.

Is it easy to park?

The view out of the front is pretty good, although the long bonnet can be quite hard to see, especially if you sit low down like a racing driver.

All DB11s come with a rear view camera which is helpful when reversing, although your rear view is limited because of the swooping shape of the car.

Safety

• Not tested by Euro NCAP
• Plenty of safety kit
• Strong brakes

It’s unlikely Euro NCAP will get hold of an Aston Martin DB11 to test – the manufacturer doesn’t even feature on the crash tester’s website.

That said you get plenty of airbags (dual-stage driver and passenger, curtain, side, head, plus pelvis and thorax seat-mounted airbags) and a long list of safety kit acronyms like dynamic stability control (DSC), emergency brake assist (EBA), traction control (TC), positive torque control (PTC) and active torque vectoring (ATV) so we’d expect the DB11 to perform fairly well in this respect.
