Would you buy this car again and why?

I would certainly buy the Audi Sportback A1 again because mine is a joy to drive and to be a passenger in. It is the best modern car that I have driven.

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes I believe we did get a good deal, we were able to negotiate the price down twice and paid cash.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

A/ Unusually the Sportback was given very good reports in BOTH Autocar and. What Car - when usually either one of the magazines will give a much poorer report on most models. B/ My Local Dealership came up with a very reasonably priced ex-demo car. C/ The Sportback has zero road tax - even though it is the diesel engine.

What was the dealer like?

The dealer was very friendly and brought his boss into the conversation! Which might have been to put pressure on us but we did not feel it.

What's it like to drive?

It is great to drive, although it has the 1.6 diesel engine it is poky and quiet with no knocking at all - a superb engine. The steering is responsive and the car grips the road well. The computer gives you guidance on when to change gear and will cruise quite happily in 5th from 40mph upwards. We are averaging over 50mpg in 2 years driving.

What's it like to park?

It is very easy to park due to to its relatively small size - for an Audi.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing has gone wrong with it in nearly two years motoring. We have recently had it serviced for the first time (2 years old or 19,000 miles) and there was nothing wrong at all.

What's most practical about your car?

The two level boot area is good. When the rear seats are down and the boot floor lifted up there is a level surface at sill height, which is great for sliding things in and out. The seating is very comfortable and holds you well even with fast cornering.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The sound system is brilliant - made even better with the fitting of a DAB Radio.
