What does this car say about you?

Stupid enough to buy a car bigger than I really needed.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Not sure. Think the wife likes it but she is not really fussed about cars and won't drive it, even though I partly got it so that she could. Too big for her.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Probably not because of fuel prices and long term servicing costs

What are you likely to buy next?

Something smaller with better fuel consumption, 5 doors and a good auto which I may find hard to match.

Did you get a good deal and why?

I think overall it was good although I was not too sure at the time. They seemed a bit penny pinching. Not keen to provide two keys, because one had been lost. However they did in the end

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I was tempted because it was an auto diesel and my wife can only drive autos. Not many auto diesels available, especially among smaller vehicles which I would normally look for

What was the dealer like?

Did what they promised and since I have been very pleased with the after sales. Some small jobs done for nothing which they need not have done.

What's it like to drive?

Steering is not the best I have had. Twice had the geometry checked out. You need to concentrate on bends. Purrs along nicely and smoothly although like a lot of German cars the ride is a bit too firm. Not like my old Xantia which had a super ride.

What's it like to park?

Awkward. I never seem to quite judge it right although being the shape it is I cannot think why. Heavy.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Very little. Not the multitronic which I had concerns about. It has been fine, although a bit slow to warm up on a cold day. A lovely change and always in the right gear. A few bulbs blown. No major faults. A failed rear number plate light bulb and the screw housing the glass plate over it had seized. Water enters the car from the rear screen wash if the nozzle is frozen

What's most practical about your car?

Very smooth engine with plenty of power. Not thirsty considering a six cylinder. Best engine on any car I have owned. Good space at rear although this is not the best feature.

Auto box.
